raccoon makes
another mess –
light rain

searching
for a lost cat –
meanwhile, fireflies

night drive –
scraggly fox
flees the headlights

graveside service –
three kinds of cicadas
whirr in the trees

calling plumbers –
toilet tank takes a leak
on bathroom floor

mushed squirrel –
above, squirrel
walks the wire

radar’s storm tracks
cross over town –
x marks the spot

hot summer –
more rabbits
than usual
