penny on the floor
I walk past it
again

tall, fast dog
pulls owner
on skates

spring snow overnight –
by midmorning
birds chirp again

old music –
memories of
young love

new snow on the lawn –
squirrel sees me
freezes

winter storm nears –
first few snowflakes
cross the county line

birdfeeder sways
when woodpecker
pushes off

warm December day
she bags up
November’s leaves

chattering raccoon
answers my call
for the cat

blue night light
the color of
burning propane
