drought –
raindrops on the window
a foreign sound

cold front arrives –
wind flicks something loose
against my window

winter night
lovesick cat yowls
outside my window

morning drive –
traffic light changes
in bus window

thunder
windows rattle
in response

heavy cat
watches squirrels
through the window

wind bringing
tomorrow’s snow
rattles windows

watching the ice storm
on the radar
not out the window

swatted fly
makes a mess
on the window

hummingbird
regards me briefly
through the window
